Description
Harvested in the majestic surroundings of the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, this yancha comes from the Qi Zhong cultivar, whose name poetically translates to "remarkable variety". Harvested from ancestral tea trees aged 60 to 200 years old grown from seed, this Grand Cru draws its strength from trees whose roots have plunged deep into the rock for generations.
From the 2013 vintage, this rare Grand Cru has benefited from over a decade of slow maturation. This careful aging endows it with a highly complex profile shaped by time, where the ancient minerality of the rock merges with the nobility of a great age-worthy tea.
Its large, twisted leaves yield an amber-colored liquor with a powdery mouthfeel.
Balancing power and elegance, the tasting reveals roasted notes and nuances of stewed red fruits, gliding gracefully toward noble, woody cedar accents.
