Description

A rare white tea of great finesse, crafted in Brittany.

This Breton Grand Cru reveals an aromatically elegant bouquet featuring notes of dried flowers such as mallow and rose, summer fruits evoking white peach and physalis (cape gooseberry). Indulgent notes of vanilla, honey, and brown sugar are then enhanced by a woody touch and a fresh verbena finish. Upon brewing, its large leaves yield a diaphanous gold liquor that delights with a remarkably smooth mouthfeel and a gentle sweet flavor.

100% Trévarez Cultivar: The Pure Expression of an Exceptional French Terroir

This organic white tea offers a unique opportunity to taste the Trévarez cultivar in its purest form, revealing all the authenticity of the Breton terroir. This Grand Cru is the result of a remarkable botanical investigation conducted by producers Denis and Weizi Mazerolle at the Filleule des Fées garden in Brittany's Blavet Valley.

While exploring estates in Morbihan known for their historic collections of around 700 camellia varieties planted since the late 19th century, they discovered a century-old tea plant (Camellia sinensis) at the Château de Trévarez, perfectly acclimatized to the Armorican climate. Propagated through seeds and cuttings, this precious specimen now gives rise to a white tea of absolute rarity.

Crafted with infinite patience using a fine plucking method (one bud and two leaves), this tea benefits from expertise tailored to the Armorican climate: a very slow, three-day withering process to develop the full complexity of aromas, followed by gentle drying at low temperature (40°C) to delicately stop oxidation.

Packaging Information

As the leaves of this white tea are particularly voluminous and fragile, this Grand Cru is packed in a large-format pouch. This generous volume is essential to preserve the integrity of the magnificent whole leaves all the way to your cup and prevent breakage.
