Description
The artisanal expression of a great black tea from Fujian
Harvested in the steep landscapes of Mount Fengxi, in China's Fujian province, this rare Grand Cru comes from the huang guan yin cultivar, traditionally reserved for making oolong teas.
The name Congu Fengxi resonates as a tribute to tea history: the term “Congu” historically distinguished the most precious black teas, whose slow manual production demanded extraordinary craftsmanship and meticulousness.
This highly demanding craft exalts its finely rolled leaves to offer, right from the steep, an amber liquor supported by a silky mouthfeel.
Upon tasting, this tea reveals a harmonious profile of rare elegance. A fruity brightness reminiscent of cooked fruit and prune pairs beautifully with the deep nuances of waxed wood and honey, highlighted by subtle citrus notes characteristic of the finest Chinese black teas.
